The City Group’s takeover of Bahia may not have been made official yet, but not even Manchester City are trying to keep things quiet.
As the Salvador club last weekend played a game which could give them promotion to the first division, the players got to watch a special video just before the match.
That was sent by Manchester City, and had Pep Guardiola, Rodrigo, Ikay Gundogan, Ederson and Ferran Soriano all wishing Bahia good luck in the game.
That video had been a secret at first, but was now published on the Brazilian club’s social media accounts.
Bahia beat CRB at the weekend, and by staying fourth in the second division table, they achieved promotion to the top flight next year.

Globo Esporte today features a piece explaining how things stand regarding the takeover.
They point out that voting, which is down to fans who are members of the club, will take place on the 3rd of December. In the morning, they vote for the club to become an Anonymous Football Society, and in the afternoon they decide whether the City Group’s bid will be accepted.
Globo Esporte says the Manchester City owners want to spend R$1bn (£160m) over fifteen years. That would be R$500m (£80m) for signings, R$300m (£48m) to settle debts and R$200 (£32m) for the club’s facilities. The takeover process is expected to be completed before the middle of December.
