Earlier in June it was reported Pierre-Émerick Aubemayang is looking for ‘at least’ €10m a year from whichever club he joins.
That figure was after tax, meaning that after all his deductions, Aubameyang demands to be earning £170k per week. At the time Manchester City were mentioned, but it seemed they were dragged in for drama, and to perhaps flush out others.
Since then nobody has really come forward, and a possible move to China has been reported several times, because it would give Aubameyang the finances he’s looking for.
L’Equipe have a look at the situation on Sunday, and say Pep Guardiola likes the player ‘very much’, but Manchester City would have to sell first before moving for a €70m sale.
Aside from that, PSG, unsurprisingly, are pushed forward once again.
With doubts once again thrown on Sergio Aguero’s future, and once again rubbished by the player’s entourage, the possible scenario for an Aubameyang arrival is being laid out.
But as it stands, linking Manchester City seems to be a force of habit, rather than a real suggestion the club are going to sign the player.
