Jesus Navas is living a good period. A very good period.
Leaving Manchester City in 2017, the Spaniard was messed around somewhat by boyhood club Sevilla as they tried to continually push down the value of the contract he would sign.
It won’t have been the nicest of experiences but Navas’ love for the club meant it was the only destination he was keen on, even if that ultimately led to Sevilla taking advantage of the situation.
This week the club beat Real Madrid 3-0 in a huge result, and Navas was one of the best players on the pitch. He was also captain and is playing a real leadership role which wouldn’t have really been imagined at Manchester City.
But there is a connection from his time in blue, report El Pais. The Spanish newspaper point out that Navas is playing a role on the right which requires him to drop back into a wingback position.
who pushed back his position at City and taught him basic concepts in defence, such as positioning and coordinating with central defenders.’It’s all going very well, so Sevilla will be glad they got him to sign until 2021, likely the end of Navas’ career.
