Watford striker Cucho Hernández has said his comments about his future have been ‘misinterpreted’, and the Hornets are yet to make a decision.
Hernández is currently on loan at Spanish Real Mallorca, having spent the two previous seasons at América de Cali and Huesca.
His campaign has been something a frustrating one, with injuries limiting him to just 880 minutes of football and two goals thus far.
His loan deal only runs until the summer and reports have indicated he will be returning to Watford, who are planning to include him in their squad next season.
That was something the 21-year-old hinted at, with him claiming they ‘intend’ to have him in their team and bring him back to Vicarage Road.
However, he has now walked back on that statement, insisting that they were ‘misinterpreted’ by the media and neither he or Watford have made a decision about his future.
“There are many options,” COPE report him saying.
“There are options to stay here and to go to Watford there have been since I signed with them years ago.
“People have misinterpreted what I said and have been able to think that I said that next season I am going to Watford.
“That is not the case because I have not even spoken to them or Mallorca.
“My only goal is for Mallorca to stay in the First Division and then we’ll see.”
