Giorgi Mamardashvili and Valencia appear very happy with each other right now. The Spanish club are set to get very close to their initial asking price from Liverpool for the goalkeeper, and he’ll remain with Los Ches for at least the rest of this season rather than going to Bournemouth.
SuperDeporte, the club’s local sports newspaper, reports Valencia hope to ‘finalise the exchange of documents’ in the coming days.
Liverpool and the La Liga side have had a verbal agreement since Wednesday, which works on the basis of a flat €35m fee, 10% of a future transfer, and around a further potential €2.5m in bonus payments.
There’s details such as the salary Mamardashvili will receive this season and payment terms to be negotiated, although it’s not thought that will cause an issue.
Mamardashvili is now thought to be very happy to know that he’s both securing his big move to Liverpool but also getting to spend another season at Valencia.
The club play away against Celta Vigo at 6pm this evening.
