At the end of April, Corriere Torino reported Merih Demiral’s representatives ‘have been talking’ with Everton ‘for weeks’ and the Juventus player is for sale in the summer transfer window.
The defender was restricted to only 10 league starts in the 2020/21 season and had seven more starts in other competitions, out of which four of them came in the Coppa Italia.
According to Il Bianconero, the 23-year-old is ‘at crossroads’ of his career, and his opportunities is likely to be limited again with the Serie A side next season.
It’s claimed the Turkey international ‘wants a leading role’, something that is unlikely to be made available for him at the Turin club.
He wants to leave and the Old Lady also think the centre-back’s sale can help them raise funds.
As per the report, Demiral is liked in the Premier League, and ‘particularly Everton’.
Any approach from the Toffees to sign the Juventus man will have to wait because he wants to focus on Euro 2020.
After the European champions, Demiral will evaluate the best offer for him, and Everton are very much in the picture to land him this summer.
