Everton’s interest in the signing of Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao continues to be taken very seriously by the Italian media.
Today, it’s outlet Tuttosport who features a story on the player, claiming he’s been drawing a small battle between clubs from Serie A and abroad who want to sign him.
Lazio, Napoli and Torino are those competing internally for the signing, but the report points out that Everton, ‘in particular’, are keen on the 26-year-old as well.
Tuttosport recalls Udinese spent €6m to sign Becao, and they’re now said to be demanding ‘twice as much’.
Torino, one of the main competitors for the signing, are not ‘able to accelerate’ for that amount for now, so that may be an advantage for the Toffees.
Last week, he had already seen journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claiming ‘negotiations are underway’ between Everton and his club for the transfer.
At that time, it was said the move would cost between €15m and €20m, and the parties were ‘not yet close’.
Now let’s wait and see how this competition could change the scenario for Frank Lampard’s side.
