Tottenham’s move for Sevilla’s Bryan Gil is not moving with the ‘expected speed’ due to Fabio Paratici being stuck in a ‘real whirlwind of operations’.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who do say that a deal will be done at some point, just slower due to Tottenham’s business elsewhere.
Spurs have been closing in on Gil over the last week, having negotiated a player plus cash deal that will see Erik Lamela join Sevilla as well.
It had been stated that things were progressing well, and it was believed a deal would be wrapped up this weekend, but it seems Tottenham’s busy schedule is holding things up.
ABC say that while the operation has been ‘on track’ for several days, it has not been completed because Gil is currently in Tokyo participating in the Olympic Games.
In the interim, Tottenham have found themselves caught up in a ‘whirlwind of operations’ in the transfer market, with Fabio Paratici closing a deal for Pierluigi Gollini, chasing Cristian Romero and even tying up a new deal for Heung-Min Son.
Furthermore, there is the constant speculation around Harry Kane, with reports in England yesterday that Manchester City are ready to pay an astronomical figure to get him.
As such, the Italian has a lot on his plate, and so the operation to sign Gil is continuing but not at the ‘expected speed’ because of the many fronts Paratici is fighting on.
