As we move towards the January transfer window, certain stories are becoming more prominent, like the future of Dušan Vlahović.
Tottenham are always involved in some shape or form, mostly thanks to Fabio Paratici’s connections, but there’s also the reality that the Serbian could be too expensive for a mid-season purchase, or simply choose to go somewhere else.
That’s why alternatives are being looked at, with one of those supposedly being Gianluca Scamacca, currently shining at Sassuolo.
He might not have scored as much as Vlahović, with the 22-year-old finding the back of the net just six times in 18 appearances, but his performances have caught the eye of all of Serie A, as well as across Europe.
Just a week ago, we covered an article that Paratici was following Scamacca ‘closely’, and now Calciomercato.it reckon he could be a target for Tottenham in January.
With him once again seen as an ‘alternative’ to Dušan Vlahović, it should be noted the Sassuolo star’s entourage maintain ‘excellent relations’ with the Spurs director of football, and these ‘should not be underestimated’, giving a potential advantage to Paratici in any conversation.
Something to think about as we edge ever closer to the transfer window.
