AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, according to claims from Italy.

The 22-year-old initially joined the Serie A side on loan from Atalanta in 2020, before his stay was made permanent earlier this year.

He started six matches across all competitions in the heart of the defence and came off the bench to replace Rick Karsdorp in the right-back position against CSKA Sofia in the UEFA Conference League.

Fabio Paratici signed Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero from Atalanta in the last window. Calciomercato.it say the Spurs chief’s goal is to sign another defender from the same league.

It’s claimed the former Juventus director ‘tries again’ with another ‘assault in Serie A’ for Ibañez.

Journalist Enrico Camelio, speaking to the website’s Calciomercato Show, stated the Brazilian is ‘very much liked’ by Tottenham. That’s all Camelio says about Paratici and Tottenham’s plans for the South American.

Ibañez’s contract runs down in 2025 and there’s no mention if either the player or Roma are open to the idea of parting ways.
