Having looked at Lautaro Martínez last summer, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on March 17th that it would be ‘easy to imagine’ Tottenham Hotspur returning for the Inter Milan star at the end of this season.

The striker has 16 goals and two assists this term, and his agent has insisted his client is looking to continue at the San Siro next campaign.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Enzo Bucchioni, the Serie A winners’ plan is to sign Juventus’ Paulo Dybala [who will be available on a free transfer] and Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca in the summer.

He claims Martínez would not be compatible to play alongside his compatriot, and therefore, the Nerazzurri could give a ‘green light’ to change their attacker next season.

“There is also the feeling that in [Martínez’s] the relationship with Inter, they are lacking stimuli and energy, even if the contract was renewed a few months ago,” the journalist said.

Bucchioni adds the 24-year-old has a market in Spain and England, where Atlético Madrid and Tottenham are named as his suitors. He claims the attacker is worth around €70m and Inter could use part of the money from his sale to sign Scamacca.

Meanwhile, another Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, told Wett Freunde how Antonio Conte’s side or Atlético can take Martínez away from Inter.

“I think Inter will let Lautaro go because of the economic situation if the offer is high. Inter showed last summer that they sell important players when they have to. But the offer should be very, very high,” Di Marzio said.

“Romelu Lukaku went for €113m, Hakimi for €70m. So, they won’t sell Lautaro for less than €70m. It also depends on the market, on Haaland, on Mbappé.

“I think Tottenham will go after Lautaro because they wanted him last summer. They want another forward to play with Kane or plan for the future without Kane. Lautaro Martinez is one of the players that Fabio Paratici loves.

“I think it could be Lautaro’s summer and Atlético Madrid or Tottenham could be the perfect destinations for him. But I know that he would like to go to Madrid. He is happy at Inter and was convinced of his contract extension, but if he had to choose another club, it would be Atlético Madrid with Simeone.”
