Following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea, which made headlines due to the altercation between Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel at the end of the match, Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte today features a special piece to talk about the Spurs boss.
To bring some comments on how it feels like to work with the Italian coach, they managed to hold an interview with Emerson Royal.
The 23-year-old, who started the season as Tottenham’s main option for the right-back position, brought some details about the daily life with Conte, and he claims that the manager is the very same person at the club as the one he seems to be when on television.
“Conte is the same coach on the sidelines, in training, in video lectures. He is like that in all aspects, explosive, demands, he works hard…,” Emerson Royal told Globo Esporte.
Royal also gave some details of Conte’s orders in training sessions, claiming the coach is also worried about the speed his team will be playing at.
“One word he repeats a lot is ‘quickly’. He likes everything done with speed. Conte always talks about the rhythm with the ball, passing it, ‘pam, pam, pam’, one or two touches. without taking too long.”
Following a 4-1 win against Southampton and the 2-2 draw against Chelsea, Tottenham currently stand in 4th in the Premier League table.
Conte and Emerson will now be preparing for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which will be played in London on Saturday.
