Manchester City have remained in contention to sign Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, even if they didn’t come forward for him in January.
The Italian press seem confident the Citizens will make an offer in the summer, when Liverpool and Bayern Munich could also emerge as suitors for the full-back.
However, the stance around the Juventus player could be changing and this will impact Manchester City.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported Juventus’ Exor ownership has put €15m into the club recently.
This means the Bianconeri find themselves strengthened from a financial perspective and they are under no extreme pressure to sell their best players.
While Cambiaso and Kenan Yildiz have been linked with exits, both of them are now at the ‘centre of the sporting project’ in Turin.
The Old Lady are now in a position to hold on to both the players and Manchester City will have to make an extra effort to land the Italy international in the summer.
Substantial offers will be considered, but Juve do not find it necessary to sell Cambiaso anymore. This is presented as a dent in the Manchester City’s summer plans to sign the player.
