German legend Rudi Voller has hailed Chelsea star Kai Havertz, labelling the youngster an ‘outstanding footballer’.
Havertz is one of the hottest rated prospects in world football, having established himself in the Bundesliga before a big-money move to Chelsea last summer.
He’s had a difficult first year in the Premier League since then, struggling to justify the big price tag that Chelsea paid for him.
That was down to several factors, including a case of severe COVID, which the midfielder is still recovering from to this day.
He’s had something of an uptick in form since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at the club in January, with the German coach starting to get the best out of his compatriot.
It’s hoped Havertz can continue that upturn at this summer’s European Championships, where he is a part of the Germany squad competing at the tournament.
Voller is certainly hoping that can be the case, praising the Chelsea man in a recent interview with SportBuzzer.
“He can already be in full focus at the European Championship,” he told them.
“But you must never forget that Kai is still a very young player who is also subject to performance fluctuations.
“He is an outstanding footballer, and he has already shown that at Chelsea.
“The good Lord has given him everything you need: he’s fast, has a great technique, is capable of scoring goals and has a strong header.
“In any case, the future of the national team will belong to him.”
