Ousmane Dembele isn’t exactly making friends and influencing people in Barcelona right now.
Last week he missed a training session through self reported illness but didn’t inform the club soon enough, meaning he was AWOL for a period.
That led to Ernesto Valverde leaving him out of the squad to face Real Betis, and a procession of Barcelona related journalists and officials going public with their concerns over the young Frenchman’s attitude.
Required to watch his teammates from the stands, Dembele wasn’t punctual and Sport believe he won’t have felt a nice atmosphere at the Camp Nou.
The 21 year old was expected to take it all on the chin, listen to the never ending advice, reflect on his own failings, and then fly to France today to join up with Didier Deschamps squad.
However, Sport report that Dembele changed his plans, and they call it the player’s ‘latest eccentricity’.
He’s said to have contacted the company who organise the private jets, and brought the trip back to France forward… heading to the airport not long after Barcelona’s 4-2 defeat.
On its own it doesn’t seem a big deal, but Dembele has got himself to the stage that any slight curiosity is being jumped upon.
