It’s all a bit confusing in Italy at the moment, with Manchester United interested in both Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat.
There are daily articles being published about both, with some claiming the midfielder is the priority, while others believe the Red Devils will go after the Denmark international first.
Well, Calciomercato try and provide a bit of clarity on Tuesday, following the Morocco international’s return to Florence amid rumours of a move to Manchester United.
They wonder whether the midfielder will end pre-season as a Fiorentina player or not, and recall that the Old Trafford side are ‘in the front row’ for him.
However, Manchester United are ‘waiting to close’ the deal for Højlund with Atalanta, and only then will they ‘move onto the midfielder’.
Regardless of the delay, Amrabat is ‘one of the first names’ on the shortlist of Erik ten Hag, even if ‘no official offers’ have been made to the Serie A side just yet.
However, they believe the move from Manchester United is just a ‘matter of time’, or at least that is what the player’s entourage are ‘convinced of’.
It’s once again reiterated that Fiorentina want around €30m for their star, and six months after a failed move to Barcelona, Old Trafford is now ‘waiting for him’.
