AC Milan are looking into the possibility of making a loan move for West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer, after Aston Villa made a move for Clement Lenglet difficult.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who cover the Italian side’s plans for the January transfer window and their desire to find a new defender today.
They explain that Milan’s plans are to find a defender, preferably left-footed who is ‘well physically structured and can play out from the back as well.
They also need a player who wants to move from his current club and the initial idea had been to sign Lenglet from Villa as he’s looking to get out after barely playing this season.
However, Villa seem unwilling to bring his loan deal from Barcelona to an end prematurely and that’s forced Milan to look at other options.
One that has been proposed to them ‘in the past few hours’ is that of Thilo Kehrer, who is presented as also looking for a move after barely featuring for West Ham this season.
Milan like him as he can play centrally and at right-back and he could be available on loan with a right to buy included, a ‘very welcome solution’ for the Rossoneri club as they need to be careful with their finances.
That doesn’t necessarily mean they will get him and there is competition in Germany and Spain, but Milan are in the mix and the idea of signing the West Ham man has been presented to them, nonetheless.
