While the entire Portuguese media talks about Tottenham Hotspur’s attempt to sign Luis Diaz from Porto, the striker is actually in South America, currently concentrated with Colombia’s national team.

And it’s from the winger’s home country that a fresh update comes from, as journalist Pipe Sierra says the negotiations for the move are on. According to his latest report, the talks between Spurs and Dragons ‘continue to advance’.

However, he also points out that another club from the Premier League could soon make a bid for the 25-year-old as well.

Since Colombia have games to be played on Friday and Tuesday, it’s said Diaz will take a decision on his future while with the national team.

The word in Portugal is that Tottenham are offering €45m for Diaz. Besides the player’s personal wish regarding the transfer, that still has to convince Porto, who have the winger protected by a €80m release clause.

When the bid was reported on Tuesday, it was claimed that the Dragons would have 48 hours to give Spurs a response, so it shouldn’t take long until we get to know their answer.
