A regional Spanish newspaper has conducted a poll on whether Real Valladolid should sell Toni Villa this summer. The 22 year old has been linked with a move to Leeds United in the past week after impressing for Cultural Leonesa last season.
El Desmarque ran a poll asking Real Valladolid fans what the club should do with Villa. 48% of the Spanish side’s supporters believe the club must keep hold of the attacker, but 37% think he should be sold in this transfer window.
The remainder of the Real Valladolid faithful say Villa must be given a chance to prove himself until Christmas. They’re clearly a tough crowd.
This week Real Valladolid’s sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez questioned Villa’s commitment to the club after the youngster was linked with Leeds United.
It’s been claimed Leeds United have approached Real Valladolid about signing Villa, and even though they want to avoid paying his €4.5m termination fee, they could still be open to going to the full amount.
Leeds United would face competition from Villa’s former club Cultural Leonesa, but the Championship side will feel they have the financial advantage over the Segunda club.
