Alfred N’Diaye may not have been one of Wolves’ most important players so far this season, but he’s certainly been a very useful addition.
Arriving on loan from Villarreal, after a similar move to Hull City last season, N’Diaye has been a good option for Nuno Espirito Santo and has 24 Championship appearances so far this season, although more than half of those are as a substitute.
Spanish newspaper La Grada, which specialises in Espanyol, reports their local club missed out on N’Diaye and several others during the summer transfer window.
It’s seen as a blow, because La Grada believe N’Diaye has shown at Wolves that he would have contributed to Espanyol this season.
N’Diaye is one of a list of players Espanyol came very close to signing, according to the Spanish newspaper, but for various reasons, mainly financial, they all decided to go elsewhere.
Now, just to rub it in for Espanyol fans, La Grada thought they’d do a feature explaining those players who almost signed are doing rather well.
Joining Wolves’ N’Diaye is Raul Albiol, currently top of the league with Napoli, and a host of others.
