Tottenham Hotspur youngster Leon Myrtaj has a big decision to make when it comes which country has wants to represent.

The 17-year-old has already represented Albanian U16 and U17s and is eligible to play for England and Hungary.

Nemzeti Sportnak state Myrtaj was born in London to an Albanian father and a Hungarian origins mother, who also has a family in Slovakia.

The outlet also had a chat with Tottenham’s teenager, who revealed that he has been in contact with the Hungarian football association, despite representing Albania. At this point in time, the winger isn’t willing to close any doors.

“I played for the Albania U17 in March, I scored a goal against Wales, I played well. But I’m also in contact with the Hungarian football association, who invited me to visit Telki,” he said.

“I’m open to the opportunity, I’d love to experience what it’s like to be part of the Hungarian national team, but I’m also in an interesting position because I could be an Albanian, Hungarian, Slovakian or English national team player. I hope to get to the point where I can represent one of them at senior level.”

The outlet claims Ange Postecoglou had called up the youngster to train with Tottenham’s first team when he was 16. He now indicates his development was partly hindered due to an ankle ligament injury he suffered in October.

Myrtaj’s goal is to make his debut for the north London club’s first team. Despite already training with the senior team, the attacker insists he is currently focused on impressing for Spurs’ youth teams and not look beyond that.

“I can’t predict where I’ll be in a year or two, but I trust that I’ll be a member of the first team by then. My contract is valid until the summer of 2026, I’m in the perfect place for my development,” Myrtaj explained.

“Mikey Moore, who is a year older than me, plays in my position as a left winger, and his example shows that you can get a professional contract from the Spurs youth team and get into the first team.”
