On Sunday, Mundo Deportivo reported Ferran Torres isn’t bothered that Barcelona have dropped out of the Champions League, and remains keen to sign for the Blaugrana in January.
Whilst it was something of a stretch to expect the current incarnation of Barcelona to beat Bayern Munich, the way in which they lost to the Bundesliga club showed there’s many problems to solve at the Camp Nou.
The Manchester City player is said to be unconcerned, and his desire to make the switch remains.
Over at AS, they report Torres will welcome a move to Barcelona with ‘open arms’, and he’s in ‘pole position’ to sign for them in January.
However, it’s made clear that despite the player having an outline agreement with the Catalan side, there’s still no big progress with Manchester City.
AS say €15m splits the two clubs on price, although they don’t give the figures for asking price and what Barcelona want to pay.
Until Xavi Hernandez’s club can come up with a reasonable amount, and meet what City want, then there’s no decision for Pep Guardiola to make.
