Earlier on Thursday, we covered a report from Spain which stated Wolves could use Rafa Mir in a deal to sign Goncalo Guedes from Valencia.
The Premier League side have long been linked with the Portuguese attacker, with Jorge Mendes links seen as a reason to believe a move could happen.
Mir now won’t be part of any deal, with it being reported in Spain he’s set to fly out today and sign for Sevilla, in a deal worth around €17m for Wolves.
Super Deporte, a newspaper local to Valencia, have their own take on the Guedes situation. They believe the player could now stay where he is, with the club’s financial problems being slightly eased by a La Liga refinancing deal.
On top of that, Wolves are the only club in town for Guedes right now, with it stated they’re the ‘only one prepared to attack’ and that wouldn’t help Valencia start the auction they’d dearly want.
Wolves haven’t made an offer yet and if it remains that way then there’s no decision for Valencia to make. Should the Premier League club move forward, then the idea of keeping Guedes could change very quickly.
