Liverpool could potentially do battle with Manchester City for the signing of Juventus youngster Nicola Savona this summer.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who report that Liverpool and Manchester City are both interested in the 22-year-old right-back.
Reports throughout this week have indicated that Manchester City are pushing to sign the defender and, one report even claimed that a deal had been done.
Tutto Juve dispute this and say that as far as they have been informed, Manchester City are only interest in the defender. There is no confirmation of any advanced negotiations or anything of that nature.
And their interest is ‘on a part with Liverpool’ who are also looking in that department. Trent Alexander-Arnold is, as you will know, heading to Real Madrid and leaving Connor Bradley as the only right back in Arne Slot’s squad.
They need a right-back this summer even if Bradley is handed the number one role and it appears Savona is on their list.
Juventus, for their part, have not set a price on him as they don’t intend to sell but there’s every chance that can change in the coming months, particularly if the Premier League comes calling with fistfuls of cash.
