Manchester United’s CEO Omar Berrada is back in Lisbon this week to take part in the Web Summit even in the Portuguese city.
A Bola cover his trip today and comments from the Manchester United chief on new manager Ruben Amorim and the club’s proposed new stadium.
It’s been a busy few weeks for Berrada, who was appointed from Manchester City earlier this year a part of INEOS efforts to reshape the corporate structure at the club.
He has already travelled to Lisbon two weeks ago to secure the appointment of Amorim from Sporting Club de Portugal following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.
He was part of a contingent that travelled to Portugal to push through negotiations with Sporting and bring the 39-year-old to Old Trafford.
That has now been finalised and done, with Amorim set to start in this international break, but it appears that work has brought Berrada back to Lisbon.
He’s appearing at the Web Summit, an event which brings together people and companies looking to redefine the global tech industry and was happy to discuss various topics about Manchester United, including their new stadium.
“I’m very excited about Ruben Amorim and his arrival, and for me it’s good to return to Lisbon. I was here two weeks ago. We really believe that he will integrate with the rest of the structure to achieve success on the pitch,” he said on United’s new coach.
“Whether we decide to renovate or build a new stadium, we want to integrate a partner like Snapdragon [technology partner and main sponsor on the Red Devils ‘ shirts], so that the construction has this side of technology present,” he added.
