Mundo Deportivo have taken up claims from the French media about a Marseille move for Brahim Diaz, and looked to chop them into little pieces.

The Catalan newspaper aren’t against transfer rumours generally, and publish a lot of their own outlandish stuff, but this one seems to have touched a nerve.

After claims in France that Marseille’s Andoni Zubizarreta and Manchester City’s Txiki Begiristain, both formerly of Barcelona, had been in some kind of talks over a Brahim Diaz loan, Mundo say that’s simply untrue.

It’s stated, in a very small article on the situation, that ‘official sources’ in any potential transfer for the youngster have denied any talks happening between Marseille and Manchester City, whether that be for a permanent deal or loan.

Perhaps there’s an annoyance in the Catalan media that it’s suggested if the 18 year old leaves Manchester City it may not be for a return to Spain.
