Leeds United have been linked with Nicolás González repeatedly over the past few weeks. The attacker scored 15 goals for VfB Stuttgart last season, playing in a variety of roles upfront.

His 14 goals in Bundesliga 2 helped Stuttgart back to the top flight, but there’s a chance the 22 year old will leave before the season kicks off.

This week’s edition of SportBild takes a look at the situation of several young players on the books at Stuttgart. Most are expected to stay and help the club in the Bundesliga next season, for González it’s stated he could leave in the current window ‘if the offer is right’.

SportBild don’t suggest what the correct figure could be, which may suggest Stuttgart are fishing to see what they can get. Leeds United are credited with interest, along with ‘half of Serie A’.

‘Half of Serie A’ sounds a little over the top, and we covered claims from Italy on Tuesday which put Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the front of the queue, and doubted a move to Italy could happen this summer.

There’s no explanation about the player’s work permit status.
