Jasper Cillessen to Liverpool rumbles on in the Spanish media, today with Mundo Deportivo, and it continues to be a transfer which makes some sense.
On Friday the Barcelona back-up goalkeeper was spotted at his club’s training centre and that inevitably encouraged transfer rumours further.
The assumption was he’d broken off his holiday to have talks with Barcelona over his future, or otherwise, with the Catalan club.
Among his proposals, the Dutchman has an ‘offer’ from ‘great’ club Liverpool and is thought to be tempted by the chance of becoming first choice goalkeeper elsewhere, which the Spanish media believe would be the case at Anfield.
Therefore, Barcelona are looking for a replacement so they’re prepared if and when Marc Andre ter Stegen’s understudy leaves the club.
Wolfsburg’s Koen Casteels, FC Koln’s Timo Horn, and Werder Bremen’s Jiri Pavlenka are all other options.
It’s not just Liverpool reportedly keen on Cillessen, although Jurgen Klopp’s side are the most mentioned, but also Chelsea and Napoli.
