As you know by now, Newcastle United are doing their best to bring a centre-back to St James’ Park, and Diego Carlos appears to be the man they want.
They’ve tried time and time again to convince Sevilla to let the Brazilian go, and now Cadena Cope in Spain claim the player’s agents are ‘negotiating’ with the La Liga side ‘the exit of the player’.
The representatives have travelled to the Spanish city and now have a ‘meeting pending’ with Monchi and the rest of the club chiefs, as per the article on their website.
Not only that, but they make it clear on Twitter via El Partizado de COPE that ‘there is an offer of €55m from Newcastle’ for the defender, which is an amount the article states ‘could be considered by the Seville club’.

That’s why, ‘given the circumstances’, Monchi is already looking on the market for central defenders ‘in search of a possible substitute if Diego Carlos leaves for the Premier League club’.
That’s a big turn of events for Newcastle, who have been going after the Brazilian for quite some time now, and this could be the final blow that finally convinces Sevilla to let their star go.
