Greek website Sdna claim Olympiacos are showing an interest in Southampton attacker Sofiane Boufal.
The Greek champions are in the market for a winger, and they’ve been linked with Fenerbahce’s Garry Rodrigues and Besiktas’ Georges-Kevin N’koudou in recent days.
However, Sdna claim that they have another target in mind, with Southampton’s Boufal said to be on their shortlist. The player is reportedly keen to continue his career in Greece after a mixed spell with the Premier League club.
Boufal wants €1.5m a season from Olympiacos, but the issue for the Erythrolefki is that Southampton are looking for a €4m transfer fee for the 26 year old, and they aren’t prepared to drop below that.
The Greek giants are said to be offering no more than €2m for the former Lille player and talks between the two parties are set to continue in the coming days.
He’s made 70 Premier League appearances for Southampton, but only scored only three goals. His contract with the Saints will expire at the end of June 2021.
