Robbie Ure graduated from Rangers’ youth system and made his way into their first team in 2022.

The 21-year-old has been speaking to Fotbollskanalen to express his desire to return to Rangers.

Ure wasn’t able to cement a place at Rangers and was limited to 79 minutes of action from three games for their senior team.

The striker left the Scottish club for Anderlecht in 2023 and then left the latter for IK Sirus last month. Fotbollskanalen have asked him about his time at Rangers.

When responding to that, Ure explained it was a dream to play for Rangers, but he had to leave the Scottish Premiership side.

“It feels like a long time ago now, but it was a dream for me. I grew up as a Rangers fan,” he said.

“It was nice to start my journey there and be there for so long, but I needed to take a new step, even though it was a very good time there. I was part of a huge football club, and I enjoyed it.”

The Swedish outlet immediately asked the attacker whether he has a ‘dream’ of returning to Ibrox.

“Of course. It would be something that would be very nice for me and for my family, but I’m not focusing on it now,” Ure explained.

“I’m focusing on taking one game at a time, but my whole family are Rangers supporters. We’ll see what happens in the future.”

The former Rangers man’s immediate focus is on impressing for the Swedish club, where he has a contract until December 2029. He is of the belief a move to Sirus could help him take the next step in his career.

In the winter market, Sirus saw Yousef Salech leave them for Cardiff City. Ure is hopeful of having a similar journey as the 23-year-old Danish forward.

“I wanted to take the next step. In Anderlecht I played in the second division in Belgium, and I felt ready for the next step. Sirius was an attractive move for me in terms of how they develop players,” he added.

“Yousef Salech came here, did well and then moved on, which was also something I thought about. I also wanted to play in a good league and in a good club, and get minutes here, as I need to play at my age.’
