Real Sociedad’s Luka Sučić is aware of the reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Croatia international took advantage of the winter break and made a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sportske Novosti had a chat with the 22-year-old on a few topics, including the recent reports linking him to Manchester United.

The midfielder joined the La Liga side from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer window and signed a five-year deal. Sučić has been a regular for La Real since September and has made 18 appearances in all competitions so far.

Prior to Christmas, claims started to emerge the player could join the Red Devils in the winter market and when asked about it, Sučić stated he isn’t aware of their interest. The player is also unaware if Ruben Amorim’s side have held talks with the Spanish club.

“I was told of such a possibility that appeared in public. I read about it myself later,” he said.

“No one called me from England. I’m contracted to Real Sociedad, where I feel good, nice, where I fit in perfectly. Did the clubs talk? I don’t know, and I’m not bothered by this topic. There have been stories like this before, and there will be again.”

When asked if he likes the Manchester United links, Sučić explained: “United are a global giant, a respected giant in the world of football. Of course, I like my name associated with the Red Devils, but I’m keeping my feet on the ground.”

The player knows Manchester United director Christopher Vivell from their time at Red Bull Salzburg and reports indicated it was Vivell who suggested his name to the Premier League side.

When asked about this, he added: “Mr. Vivell knows me well from my Red Bull days, I can only say that, and unfortunately I cannot know what anyone does and does in the football business. They say that the Lord’s ways are strange, and so are professional football players…”
