AFC Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi has told D Sports that he can’t rule out a move back to San Lorenzo in the future.
The defender was at the Argentine club’s academy for seven years and was promoted to their senior team in 2016. He spent three years there before arriving in Europe, when Feyenoord signed the 27-year-old in 2019.
Senesi’s displays for the Eredivisie side convinced Bournemouth to bet on him in August 2022.
The centre-back has been featuring regularly for the Cherries, making 76 appearances in all competitions, of which six are from this season.
On his experience in the Premier League so far, he said: “It’s a very intense competition, almost all teams have great forwards. Not only the top ones who are well armed, but also the promoted teams that are going up. It creates a very good competition.”
The Argentina international’s deal lasts until 2026. His immediate plan is to continue in Europe for the next few years. At the same time, D Sports say the defender hasn’t ruled a move back to San Lorenzo in the future.
“It’s something I can’t tell you, because when I return, we will see whether or not San Lorenzo want me,” Sensei explained.
“I can’t tell you that I would only play for San Lorenzo because I would be lying, obviously that’ll always be the priority because of everything they gave me and what they mean to me.”
Senesi had an opportunity to represent Italy and Argentina. He received called up from both of them in June 2022.
The Bournemouth player picked La Albiceleste and made his debut in a friendly against Estonia the same month. That has been the only appearance for the national team.
“They called me from Italy, from the coaching staff. I told them my priority is Argentina, but they still included me in the list,” he added.
