There seems to be some hope in Italy that Arsenal midfielder Jorginho may become a free agent in the summer.

The 32-year-old’s deal with the Gunners expires at the end of the season, but with the club holding an option to extend it for an extra year, there’s no certainty about his future.

Outlet Calciomercato today features a story claiming Arsenal still haven’t communicated to either the player or his entourage that they’re either triggering the option or handing him a new contract, and that delay is now drawing the interest from some clubs.

Juventus are one of them, with the website claiming there’s an ‘ancient obsession’ to bring him to the Old Lady.

It’s said that club director Cristiano Giuntoli knows ‘everything’ about Jorginho, as they were together at Napoli, and is ‘seriously thinking’ about his signing, even though they’re ‘waiting for the right moment’ to make their move.

Calciomercato makes it clear it’s Arsenal who are ‘in charge’ of the player’s future.

There are three possibilities for the summer: a new contract, a one year renewal and free agency, and it’s clear Juventus will be very much hoping for the latter.
