Late last week, it was reported a number of times that Tottenham had taken an interest in Houssem Aouar.

All the claims came from Le10 Sport, but they seemed fairly adamant that Spurs had turned their attention to the now former Arsenal target, if they are to be believed in that department too, and wanted to bring him to London.

Well, that’s now been backed up somewhat by L’Equipe, who look at Lyon’s situation on the transfer market, where both the Gunners and Tottenham are said to be have a ‘timid interest’ in the player.

That’s about all they give on Aouar regarding Spurs, but that’s not all involving the Ligue 1 side and their Premier League counterpart.

In the past, Joachim Andersen was said to be a target for the north London side, but L’Equipe are clear: Tottenham ‘don’t seem to be interested in the Danish defender any longer since the arrival of their new manager, Nuno Espirito Santo’.

To us, that suggests the Portuguese completely vetoed a move for the Denmark international, clearly wanting to focus on other targets instead.
