As São Paulo fans continue to be hopeful that they could have Lucas Moura back at the club, Brazilian journalists have to keep denying those rumours again and again.
Earlier this week, we’d already seen the player’s agent claiming Tottenham Hotspur have ‘no interest’ in negotiating the winger this summer.
Still, journalist Jorge Nicola continued to receive questions about a potential move, and in a video released today, he explains the reason why Lucas Moura wouldn’t return to the Brazilian club this summer.
He once again claims to have spoken to agent Junior Pedroso, who this time said that even though the player is ‘in love’ with São Paulo and has the wish to play for the club again, that won’t happen anytime soon.
It’s explained that Moura has been getting a more important role since Nuno Espírito Santo took charge of Tottenham. Nicola says the coach has been giving him ‘enormous space’ for him in the team, proving it in the first pre-season games.
He claims ‘it’s predicted’ that Moura has a more featured role at Spurs this season, and since he’s protected with a contract running until 2024, São Paulo would have no conditions to take him out of the Premier League now.
