Raúl Jiménez has made four appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season and his last outing came in their goalless draw against AFC Bournemouth on August 31st.
Since then, the striker has been sidelined with an injury and it forced him to miss Mexico’s friendly ties against Peru and Colombia during September’s international break.
W Deportes have a report on the 31-year-old, where they detail why he won’t feature again for Wolves in the coming weeks.
Despite having chances of enjoying minutes with the Premier League side before the start of the World Cup, the ex-Benfica man has decided to work with the national team doctors so that he can be in perfect condition for the upcoming event in Qatar.
It’s explained Jiménez and Mexico have ‘reached an agreement’ with Wolves for the player to be rehabilitated at Centro de Alto Rendimiento in Mexico City, starting this week.
He will be under the observation of the national team’s medical staff. The ultimate goal is for the Wolves player to be fully fit, in order to make it to Gerardo Martino’s squad for the World Cup.
Wolves will play seven matches before the FIFA tournament kicks off next month. If their agreement with the attacker and Mexico is true, then Jiménez will miss these games for his club.
