AFC Bournemouth’s Luis Sinisterra has been forced to withdraw from the Colombia squad due to concerns over his fitness.

This was confirmed by the Federación Colombiana de Fútbol [Colombian FA] through their official website.

La Tricolor will face Spain and Romania and the Bournemouth player “will not continue” with the national team for these two friendlies this month due to “physical discomfort”, which prevents him from being fully fit.

Colombia manager Néstor Lorenzo, his coaching staff and the players have all wished the winger a “speedy recovery”. The 24-year-old’s setback has seen the FCA decide to replace him with Real Salt Lake’s Carlos Gómez for March’s international break.

Sinisterra’s last appearance came in the Cherries’ 4-3 win over Luton Town last midweek, where he was replaced after the first-half.

He joined the Premier League side initially on a loan deal from Leeds United last summer and his stay there was made permanent earlier this year. The South American has scored four goals and registered three assists from 26 games this season

On March 30th, Bournemouth will Everton and Andoni Iraola would be hoping for the player to be available for selection.
