One of the main signings at Tottenham this summer, Cristian Romero is slowly but surely establishing himself under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The centre-back, bought by Fabio Paratici from Atalanta, has started the last three games in the Premier League, as well as the recent 1-0 win over Burnley in the EFL Cup.

A knee injury and a quarantine after playing for Argentina scuppered his chances of an earlier start in the regular line up, but that is now all in the past and he will be thrilled with the last few games he has played in.

While it has taken him some time to adapt to his new surroundings, the player is now far more comfortable at Tottenham, and he explained as much in an interview with Sky Italia.

Speaking to the TV channel and relayed by CalcioNews24, he said: “Now I feel at home. Each change requires a certain period of adaptation, but now I’m fine and I hope to be able to continue playing at these levels. I have to thank Giovani Lo Celso. He helped me in this period of adaptation.

“I like having him as a teammate, both in the club and in the national team. He is a great friend, but he did not influence my decision. I chose to come to Tottenham because it’s a great club that plays in the best league in the world”.

His next task as a Spurs player will be to try and stop Cristiano Ronaldo from finding the back of the net, as he faces Manchester United in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have been in poor form, forcing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under a lot of pressure, and Romero will undoubtedly want to walk away with all three points, perhaps putting the final nail in the Norwegian’s coffin.
