Most of the Brazilian sports media is now pretty sure that Murillo has very advanced talks to leave Corinthians for Nottingham Forest this summer.

Reports on Friday even claimed that the Timão already accepted the Reds’ bid, and only bureaucratic details are left for the transfer to be official.

Now as ESPN Brasil features their story on the move, they bring some interesting details of the talks.

First of all, it’s claimed that Corinthians are still aiming to make more money with the sale. Nottingham Forest’s bid is €13m, and bonuses are being discussed to make a bigger total amount.

Regarding the negotiation process, ESPN Brasil reveals that the player was not discovered by the people that the Tricky Trees have in Brazil.

It’s explained that not even Murillo’s agents were involved in the talks. They actually authorised a group to intermediate the talks between Corinthians and Nottingham Forest.

In other words, it seems the defender was not an indication from the scouting team, and actually suggested by agents who have bigger influence in European football, and the Reds ended up becoming interested in the signing.

Murilo had been approached by the likes of Napoli, Fiorentina and Torino, and those offers were brought by his own agents. But he was never interested in moving to those clubs, and everything changed when an offer from the Premier League arrived.
