Nottingham Forest have been warned that a move for Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch would prove to be an ‘expensive’ one.
Steve Cooper’s side were linked with a move for the striker yesterday, with it claimed that they were eyeing up a potential deal in the January transfer window.
DeichStube now follow that report up with their own information on the matter, insisting that any move for the in form striker would not be a cheap or easy one.
They explain that according to their information, Ducksch signed a new deal until 2026 earlier this year and as a result, Werder are well protected on that front.
As a result, it would be ‘correspondingly expensive’ for the likes of Nottingham Forest to sign him, although they do point out that ‘the question of money’ very rarely comes up in the rich and abundant Premier League.
Should Nottingham Forest or anyone else come calling then Werder Bremen would likely look for a deal similar to the one that saw Niclas Füllkrug leave for Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
He moved for a €15m fee plus bonuses and the belief is that they would look for a similar price for Ducksch as they could put that money to good use, particularly in finding a replacement.
They’re naturally not keen to lose their star man, with head of first team football Clemens Fritz insisting today that they’re not thinking about a departure in the January transfer window.
Whether that proves to be the case in reality, particularly with Nottingham Forest in desperate need of a replacement for Taiwo Awoniyi, who has been ruled out for months, remains to be seen.
