Trying to add to their already ridiculous number of signings this season, Nottingham Forest made a move for Nimes Olympique’s Sada Thioub on transfer deadline day.
The news was first reported by L’Equipe in France, but they didn’t sound particularly optimistic about the Championship side getting the 23-year-old, labelling the whole affair ‘very complex’.
Well, as you might have realised since he wasn’t presented at City Ground either Thursday or Friday, the deal never went through, with Friday’s edition of the newspaper stating everything was ‘too complex’ despite Forest trying to ‘snatch’ Thioub in the dying hours of the window.
As they pointed out in their Thursday article, this is a deal that could still take place, but it will have to be for the summer, with both teams now having all the time in the world to negotiate and put together a package everyone is happy with.
Thioub has made 22 appearances for Nimes this season, mostly playing down the right hand side, scoring two goals and picking up three assists.
