Nottingham Forest are reportedly in talks for the signing of Slovenian midfielder Domen Crnigoj.
It’s the Italian media who today reveals the negotiations, with outlet TuttoMercatoWeb writing about the ‘English sirens’ for the 26-year-old this summer.
The website writes that following Crnigoj’s season with Venezia in Serie A, where he made 34 appearances, he ended up ‘in the crosshairs’ of Nottingham Forest, who are now working on a deal.
It’s said the negotiations between clubs already started and there could soon be a ‘white smoke’, since there’s ‘indeed optimism’ of a deal.
TuttoMercatoWeb, however, doesn’t say how much the English side are set to pay for the transfer. Crnigoj is well protected by Venezia with a contract running until 2025, and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €1.5m.
Nottingham Forest have also been linked today to Palmeiras star Gustavo Scarpa, and as the Reds look to reinforce their midfield for the upcoming Premier League season, they now add another player for the position.
