Nottingham Forest have been linked with a ex Valencia midfielder Tino Costa, according to claims in the Italian media. The Argentina spent last season on loan with Fiorentina from Spartak Moscow.

TMW have reported in the last hour that Nottingham Forest have tabled a bid to sign the Argentine as they look to strengthen their squad in this transfer window, but face competition from San Lorenzo.

It’s been claimed Costa has an agreement with San Lorenzo, but Nottingham Forest are hoping the financial package offered to Costa could persuade the midfielder to turn down a move back to his home country.

Costa has spent his entire career in Europe, starting out in France with RCF Paris. The midfielder had spells with Pau and Montpellier before getting his big move to Valencia.

Whilst at Valencia, Costa made his debut for Argentina, winning two caps. Costa has also had loan spells with Serie A sides Genoa and Fiorentina.
