With Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos becoming a target for Nottingham Forest, we now get to see the Portuguese media sharing interesting information on the Reds’ interest.

In their Monday issue, newspaper A Bola writes that the clubs are currently negotiating the transfer, and even though there’s distance between offer and request, ‘there’s optimism’ a deal can be done soon.

The mood isn’t great for Vlachodimos to stay at Benfica, as following his recent arguments with manager Roger Schmidt, he’s been out of the squad, and the club look for a quick solution.

A Bola explains that with Nottingham Forest missing out on Dean Henderson, the Benfica goalkeeper showed up as a ‘good business opportunity’.

It’s said that the Eagles’ request for the sale is €10m. And the problem is that the Tricky Trees don’t want to spend more than €6m, so the clubs should work on a common ground here.

According to an update from Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, Nottingham Forest placed a €9m bid, and the clubs are currently negotiating. Vlachodimos is said to be ‘open’ to the move.
