Around a week ago, Nottingham Forest began to be linked with a move for Caen’s Brice Samba.
With Sabri Lamouchi in charge at the Championship club, links with France based players, and genuine interest in signings from the country, is a natural development.
Lamouchi, formerly of Rennes, is reportedly a big fan of what Samba has to offer between the sticks, specifically his ‘explosiveness’ and how solid he is on his line.
Rennes and Montpellier have both also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, but Nottingham Forest’s arrival on the scene was seen as a big blow to their chances.
Six days ago, Soccer Link believed the English club ‘would like to finalise the transfer quickly’, which was likely given the stage of the window.
Now they report there’s ‘total agreement’ between Nottingham Forest and Caen, and that Samba will need to pass a medical on Wednesday for the transfer to then go through.
