Bolstering pretty much every position in their squad this summer, including signing two right-backs, it’s believed that Nottingham Forest are going after a third.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who explain that Steve Cooper’s side are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with free agent Djibril Sidibé, who left AS Monaco when his contract ran out.
The Frenchman knows the Premier League already following a loan spell at Everton during the 2019-20 season, and it’s believed the two parties have found a ‘total agreement’ regarding a one-year contract with an option for another.
That being said, the deal isn’t done yet, because ‘certain details still need to be sorted’ and Nottingham Forest are ‘studying other avenues’, such as former Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, who has also ‘received an offer’ from the Tricky Trees.
As explained above, the arrival of either of these players at City Ground would be the third right-back signing for the club this summer following the acquisitions of Neco Williams from Liverpool for £18m and Giulian Biancone from Troyes for £9m.
It’s worth pointing out that Sidibé is capable of playing down the left if needed, and would offer Nottingham Forest a bit more versatility than Aurier.
Something to keep an eye on.
