Nottingham Forest are once again linked to a player from the Portuguese league today, in a story which could explain a lot about the club’s future.
After signing Diogo Gonçalves and João Carvalho from Benfica, the Championship side are now involved in another deal with Jorge Mendes, which would be for the Braga midfielder Nikola Vukcevic.
As reported by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, the plan started with the Portuguese club. They want to sell the player, and have asked for Mendes to help to find him a new club.
The agent offered Vukcevic to Nottingham Forest, and now, as the outlet says, the English side are ‘very probably’ signing the 26-year-old, and ‘the transfer could be made concrete soon’.
The newspaper doesn’t say anything about negotiations or offers. They make the deal sound pretty simple, with Jorge Mendes offering, and Forest accepting.
That’s why A Bola says that Nottingham Forest’s plan for the season is to ‘repeat’ what Wolves have done and get the promotion to the Premier League.
The Molineux side achieved great things last season with the help of the super agent, and it’s really starting to look like Forest are going the same way.
Let’s see if Mendes’ plan will work out again.
