A month ago, reports from the French media said Damien Perquis wasn’t in Nottingham Forest’s plans for next season.
France Football claimed the player was told to train with Nottingham Forest’s U23 squad, as the club would be finding a way to terminate his contract.
And it seems it didn’t take long for his departure to be sorted out, because according to today’s reports, the defender already has a destination defined.
Journalist Manu Lonjon, from Yahoo France, claims Perquis is heading to Ligue 2 side Gazelec Ajaccio. The move should be made official on Monday.
Nottingham Forest and Perquis are parting on mutual terms, with both agreeing it’s best for a new start and a fresh destination for the player.
Signed from Toronto FC last summer, the 33-year-old only made 19 appearances for Nottingham Forest in his first season, and wasn’t able to convince he should stay for longer.
