Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković is having a very busy week indeed. The 33 year old has just become a dad for the second time, with reports in Serbia that the Forest player ‘wept with joy’ when informed he was the father of baby boy.

That’s the good news, or very good news, the more negative news surrounds Stojković being the victim of land fraud. Speaking to Kurir in Serbia, the Nottingham Forest player explained that people he’d known from football for a long time, and associates, presented him the opportunity to invest in some land.

Stojković thought it was a good idea and an investment for his children’s future, but ended up finding himself €350,000 out of pocket, and without any land to show for it.

The victim of a scam, the Nottingham Forest player did the right thing and went to the police. Stojković is quoted by Kurir as saying: “I’m embarrassed because of what happened. I believed that the people who advised me to invest in that land were serious. Finally, I spoke to the police.”

The land wasn’t the fraudsters to sell, and documents given to Stojković were not sufficient to mean he then owned the land.
